Untitled (Picasso, The Painter, 1963), 2019
Gouache and pencil on paper, 41 drawings, 21 x 29.7 cm

The exhibition The Painter was centered around a series of 41 drawings based on Picasso's eponymous painting from 1963 and was complemented by a small selection of other drawings, several stools from the artist's studio and some mobiles. In the backspace of the gallery visitors were invited to play a spoken word recording from the novel The Making of Americans (1925) by Gertrude Stein who, in her day and discipline, set out to palpably show that repetition is a fundamental principle of life.
